Congratulations on starting your business!
There’s tons to do isn’t there? Lots of new things to think about and most of it is exciting and fun and gives you a real rush – but for some people setting up and managing the financial records just isn’t it!
That’s where we can help you.
MTD Scotland has been set up by Katie Hearns (a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) specifically to help businesses in the Fife and Lothian area make their financial management straightforward and hassle free.
Are you doing your own bookkeeping?
Whether it’s a box of receipts, a spreadsheet or you’re already up and running with a cloud accounting system is this the best use of your time? If it’s beginning to feel like the answer to this question is “no” then get in touch, we can help create more time for you in all these scenarios.
Have you selected your financial software yet?
There’s lots of great online accounting systems out there and you may well be up and running. But maybe it’s not to your liking, maybe you love it but just haven’t had the time to set it up in the way that gets all the information you want out of it, or maybe you just need someone to help with the statutory bits like VAT returns, year-end accounts and corporation tax returns. Again, MTD Scotland would love to help you.
Other services you might appreciate!
Before setting up MTD Scotland Katie’s most recent role was Financial Controller for a young engineering company heavily involved in Research and Development projects. As a result, on top of the day to day financial reporting stuff (on a cloud based accounting system), she is well-rehearsed in:
- Putting together Research and Development tax credit claims (please note – we won’t charge fees based on a % of the R&D tax credit you get from HMRC – we believe in fixed fee billing through detailed discussions with clients to understand the size of the task)
- Creating cash flow forecasts for business plans and funding applications
- Drafting grant applications that can push the right buttons with funders (most of the time!)
- Ensuring financial data is reported accurately for submission of grant claims
